TEA TIME WITH... Victoria Natenzon of Victoria Marie PR

August 03, 2016 by Christy Meisner in Tea Time With...

"Tea Time With..." is an outlet for talking blooms and sharing the stories of my favorite women who inspire me.  It is no surprise that my first interview is with my brainstorming partner in crime, Victoria Natenzon.

We first met when a mutual friend mentioned that there was an Olsen twin look-alike working in the fashion closet at Teen Vogue who I absolutely had to meet. I instantly loved her positive vibes both as a colleague and friend and now describe her as the younger sister I never had.

Victoria is now the mastermind behind some of my own business communication strategies while working with amazing clients as owner of Victoria Marie PR. This gal is a (mini) living, walking example of what Malcolm Gladwell describes as a "connector" and if you meet her once, you will likely be friends for life.

A few Q+As with Victoria...

Q: What is your favorite flower? scent?

A: Peony and Peony! I know that might sound cliché, but it will all make sense in the next question...

Q: Do you have a favorite flower- related memory?

A: I've  always loved flowers, but growing up I never learned anything about them! When I first started working in PR I worked on a brand called “FLOWER” and of course, every event had a carefully curated floral selection. I had actually worked directly with Christy to put together flower crowns for an event. We sat in a conference room and worked for hours to create gorgeous floral headpieces made of peonies and garden roses. After the event Christy put together a beautiful peony arrangement for my apartment. It lived on my nightstand and made me so happy.

Q: How did your business get started and what is the most important piece of advice you can give to young aspiring publicists?

A: My business started very organically. I was approached to work on a freelance project and decided to take a few months to try it and see what happened. Referrals started rolling in and I was able to maintain a steady business for longer than I had anticipated! A word of advice – be nice, read and learn to leverage your existing network.

Q: What advice do you live by?

          A: Know your own worth.

Q: Is there something specific on your check list you would like to accomplish this year?

A: Work with a fragrance brand and redecorate my apt.

Q: What is your favorite place to grab coffee or tea and which do you prefer?

A: I love tea and really like the one at Sant Ambroeus
